Echo Lake Acoustics

Each of the members of ELA is a multi-instrumental musician with the ability to compose original music and improvise. We have all played in multiple genres that range from classical to jazz to country to surf rock... we've covered a lot of ground between the three of us.  We are flexible in a business way as well, and are willing to negotiate the terms of any job to fit the needs of the client (exclusive license, work-for-hire, etc.).  Just tell us what you need and we'll work it out.  Here are some of the services we offer.

PRE-RECORDED LIBRARY
Our library of music, which is located on the "Music" page, is something we add to every week.  Each of the short melodic ideas is completely original and controlled by ELA.  If you hear anything that appeals to you, just contact us and we can tell you if the clip is available.  We can also alter, add to, or remix anything in our library to fit your needs.

ARRANGEMENTS ON DEMAND
In addition to our library, ELA can create music tailored to fit any request. We have been known to create arrangements based on descriptions as nebulous as "something really sad that you can dance to", so feel free to ask us for anything.  The search for music that is appropriate for a specific moment or emotion is one of our favorite challenges.

SCORING
We do much more than the short clips of music in our library - we also score films of any duration and/or genre.  For example, we are currently doing music supervision and scoring for a short documentary film about a boxing trainer that is being handled by a Producer who has won an Oscar for Best Short Documentary and a Director who won the Slam Dance Film Festival.

LIVE SCORING
ELA is pioneering a new concept we like to call "live" scoring, which entails recording live improvisational music to filmed material.  This entails improvising in response to visual data and recording it live so that the music perfectly matches what is happening on the screen.  In short, we create a score on the spot based on what we see happening so that we follow every twist and turn as it happens.  This creates a synergy between the images and the music that avoids the potential pitfall of having the music seem static or staged.  It is a challenging technique, but it creates a unique sense of unity that traditional scoring sometimes fails to achieve.
